Jian Irish has over 25 years of leadership experience in the biopharma operations, with executive responsibilities in drug development and commercialization, and global business operations. Jian is currently the President/COO at Metagenomi, a gene editing therapeutics company with a versatile portfolio of next-generation CRISPR gene editing tools. Prior to that, Jian served in the leadership roles launching one of the first approved CAR-T cell therapy products and scaling out the cell therapy operations at Kite Pharma, as the Senior Vice President, Global head of Manufacturing, and Senior Vice President of Supply Chain. Jian also held global leadership roles as the Vice President of biologics product development, supply, and partnership at Sanofi, and executive leadership roles at Amgen in the oncology development, manufacturing, and JAPAC regional operations, contributing to the launch of many innovative medicines in her tenure of 15 years at Amgen. Jian holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Chiba University in Japan and a BS in Chemical Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology, as well as an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.
